1. Objectives

Telefónica's II Global Workshop on Energy and Climate Change is the meeting point where energy transformation, sustainability and climate change leaders can discuss and share best practices in energy efficiency and make an overall assessment of compliance with global targets for the reduction of energy consumption.

Date: 5, 6 and 7 October 2011
Place: Westin Hotel, Lima, Peru

3. Overview

The event will take place over three days in the form of interactive sessions with local energy leaders in Latin America and Europe. They will comment on the practices in place in each country and give their view of compliance with local targets.

Particular attention will be paid to improving greenhouse gas emissions and energy inventory development processes. Training sessions will take place with those responsible for energy and carbon in the various countries and enterprises, focused on adapting to the new global emissions and energy management computer system.

The event will involve global partners, such as GSMA, HUAWEI and EMERSON among others. Said companies are related to the telecommunications world and will offer presentations informing on the energy efficiency projects that are in place in Telefónica's operations today.

Finally, the aim of the workshop is to increase synergies between local teams by means of integration and recognition activities. There will be a guided tour around the facilities of TIWS in Peru and prizes will be given for best energy efficiency practices in the group.
